QRC provides on-site annual radiation safety and quality assurance/control seminars that meet and exceed regulatory requirements.
The annual in-services cover the elements required by the Department of Health and offer helpful practice suggestions for all x-ray operators. Our annual in-services are always approved for ASRT Category A continuing education credits.
We are open to creating customized annual in-services that target your specific radiology issues and concerns.
The following outline is from our
1999 annual radiation safety in-service:
- The effects of radiation exposure to the human body, embryo and fetus
- Radiation dose "average exposures" to our patients
- Patient shielding ( gonad and courtesy shielding)
- Radiation protection for operators
- Holding policies and procedures (patient and film)
- Patient immobilizing procedures
- Use of protective clothing (lead aprons and gloves)
- Care of protective clothing (lead aprons, shields and gloves)
- Pregnancy issues and concerns (patient and radiology staff)
